Yes you need to take him to the vet. Any major changes are a signal to go to the vet and soon. He will probably need some blood work. Juts so you know, outdoor cats often only live 1/3 as long as indoor cats. They enjoy it, but it is so dangerous for them.

I would definately take your cat to the vets maybe he got into something outside which is making him sick and he could be throwing up and you just not be noticing it. Also, he could be diabetic which is another explanation for rapid weight loss. Hope all is well.

yes you should take your cat to the vet. Your cat might have a parasite that is causing your cat to lose it's fur. Most likely it is a endoparasite. He might have picked it up outside some where. Maybe he drank bad water or rotten food. So take you cat to the vet as soon as possible. The doctor should run a fecal test so if you can bring stool samples. Bring urine if you can as well.

sounds like fleas, he may be licking himself, maybe lice which is hard to see. I say yes to the vet since it's hard to know.

An animal's coat is the first sign that something is wrong, along with weight loss. Your cat could be diabetic or simply have worms. My cat was pretty heavy until he started peeing alot, leaving little surprise poops around and losing weight. It turned out he was diabetic which is pretty easy to control after some blood work. (Common in middle aged males) If he's outside alot he could have worms cause they love to eat birds, mice etc...

Take your cat to a vet. Dont take any chances. Vets are the best to use for advise.
