they say it's normal to lose 50-100 hairs a day but i'm worried since it happened (just a few days ago) because i don't lose hair this much before. i remember not more than 10!
it's the first time that happened to me. now it falls whenever i comb it especially when i just got out of the shower. i also noticed the hair that falls out got little white "eggs" on the bottom (i don't think it's dandruff and i don't have lice...)
is this part of getting older? i'm only 23. i wonder if it's also because of stress? i've been really tired and i'm a late sleeper. will this stop soon? if not, how can i reduce the hair fall? and where should i go for a check up? i lessen the shampoo for a while and replaced it with conditioner.

That's the roots of your hair. Probably not eggs. If your concerned go see a dermatologist. Alos if your over stressed take a few days off!

There are a few reasons this could be happaning to you. First I'm sure it's been a while since you had a trim, I don't mean a full on cut- just 1 inch off the ends is all you need. If you have naturally curly, wavy or textured hair lots of shedding happans when the hair gets long and does need the ends trimmed. And your 23, you need to be taking a woman's multi-vitamin especially if you are stressed as your body will use up more vitamins when you are under any stress and it won't go to your skin or hair. If you smoke, this uses vitamins and could cause poor hair/skin side effects also.
You do lose hair because of stress, but it could be because of stress, or any of the above mentioned..
To lessen the amount of hair that is shedding, I can tell you if you find a salon with the product Nioxin, the bionutrient cleanser and scalp treatment is the best thing ever. It stops excessive shedding and improves your hair's overall health. It is expensive but it's worth every cent.

You got dry scalp or you may have fungi in your scalp. Once a week you massage your hair w/ avocado oil, henna or any any massage conditioner and let it stay for 30 minutes before taking a bath. During the week you use the Nizoral at least 2x a week and the Pregroe treatment shampoo alternately. I advise that you dilute the shampoo in a small quantity of water in a dipper then pour thru your entire scalp than putting them in your hand coz it only touches the hair and not the scalp. Then after rinsing dab a Pantene Hairfall Control Conditioner on your hair. You may also take hair vitamins.
Other factors of falling hair are stress, poor health, 3 months after giving birth and age.

Woman, you gotta stop stressing, not sleeping will not do it alone but if you're stressed out and NOT sleeping much. That'll do it.
I know this because i have the same problem. My hair started falling a lot around your age, i'm now 28, it's not as bad now but i have also become a lot healthier. If you're taking birth control, that might do it because it changes your hormone levels, that in itself is a cause of stress to your body.
I hate to say this to you but if you color your hair a lot, like more than once every 3 months, that's not good, you might want to refrain from that. Also start using a clarifying shampoo once a week followed by a deep conditioner. The clarifying shampoo will clean your scalp and let it breath and will help allow new hair growth. I use pantene for all my hair cleaning needs, it works great.
and last but no least, if you blow dry your hair a lot, it maybe drying your scalp. If you don't think so because it's oily...that's a sign of it. Your scalp maybe producing extra oil to moisturize itself.

my sister faced this problem once then she changed the shampoo and the problem stopped.Sometimes allowing the dirt to accumulate also can cause vigorous hair fall.In your diet include foods rich in calcium and iron like spinach,milk,sprouting grams and green leafy vegetable AND also don't take calcium and iron together as they will not be absorbed by the body atleast there should be 6 hours gap between the intake of calcium and iron.If u give an hot oil treatment without vigorous massage and after few hours use grinded leaves of eclipta alba u could increase the volume OF UR HAIR.
